OL 2007 - Images in mail

On my TabletPC*) OL 2007 does not show any images in mails.
There only appears a white frame with the size of the image.
The frame does not have the red "x" which appears in a browser when
showing images is deactived.

The same mails show fine in OL 2007 on my desktop (as well as in OL
2003 on my notebook and in OE on all of ny systems).

I assume that it might have to do with the security settings but the
settiings for both machine are the same. The option for blocking the
automatic download of images in HTML-mail and RSS-feeds is disabled.

Outlook 2007 no longer uses the Internet Explorer engine to display images,
instead using Word. You might check out this information:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/outlook/HP073107391033.aspx?pid=CH0103 If
you have further issues, I would also look to
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/index.htm or post to the
microsoft.public.outlook newsgroup where the program is supported. The
image display is an Outlook issue, and not one of Tablet PC functionality.

Thanks fro trying to help, Chris!

Yes, I know.
And I'm suffering from the changed HTML rendering on my desktop (where
showing images works as it should) [siiiigh].

Thanks for the pointer.
But it's not of help:
(a) The situation is different from what the article refers to:
As said I do *not* get the "red X placeholder, only a *totally*blank*
rectangle;
(b) The feature of blocking HTML is disabled.
If you have further issues, I would also look to

Thanks for the hint. Will look there.

I know ;-)
And that's why posted this the Outlook-NG (after having hasked in the
German OL-NG in vain) and only crossposted here in case their might be
any kind of influence from the TabletPC OS (one never knows).

Thanks again
Rainald
