This thread has been silent for awhile, but none the less, the issue has been
a big problem for me and you appear to be right on top of this issue I ran
Outlook Express for 4 years, never a problem, Outlook 2002 for 3 years
..never a problem. I have run Outlook 2007 for 3 months....and this problem
has surfaced in my Original Profile and now in my New profile I created about
a month ago. No, I got the message, I did not Import.....
My most recent Profile.....1st I ran SCANPST Tool on the data File. I then
Created a NEW Profile, I then opened the Data File into the NEW Profile.
When I see the error message...a data File Did Not close Properly....etc....I
have run SCANPST...and it shows no errors. I have disabled Add-ons...and
still get this message.
I then Created another Profile....this time I Only opened my CALENDAR
data.....I did transfer any messages....or message folders.....and about 3
weeks later the SAME error message began to display.
I am quite preplexed by this issue.....and will aprreciate any detailed help
provided. Thank You

False. This behavior occurs every time and has nothing to do with any
add-ins.

The culprit is Google Desktop Add-Inn. Either you delete it (in which case
you will get a different error message when opening OL 2007) or you update
it, in which case, the problem will disappear like magic.
:
Having been paying attention here have you? Importing an entire PST file
will create a duplicate (aka ghost) PST and corrupt the profile.
Moreover,
importing PST's will lose:
1. Custom Forms
2. Custom Views
3. Connections between contacts and activities
4. Received dates on mail
5. Birthdays and anniversaries in calendar
6. Journal connections
7. Distribution Lists
Opening a PST file will preserve all of these. That is why we do not
advise
people to import a native file into Outlook.

just a new profile for the outlook
you create it from contro panel mail
then just import the data
:
Do you mean a new Windows sign on profile or just redirect my OL
to
the
new
pst?
Dennis
copy the PST file to desktop , search for scanpst and repair
the
data
once that is done create a new profile that should be it
:
I have OL 2007 on Vista.
I get a recurring error "the data file "personal Folders" was
not
closed
properly"
Almost everytime I open OL, I get the reeor
A data file did not close properly the last time...
Any suggestions to stop these errors?
thanks,
Denins
