Good day, I'm running a roaming system that connects to exchange either
direct through LAN or VPN over a cable network. In any event, when starting
OL until I halted Defender it would take several minutes to load. Now its
down to a minute or slightly less. The dilema I'm constantly hitting is when
OL attempts to negotiate a network connection even when none exists. I
confirmed the timeout was at a minute and reduced it to 30 seconds. But even
now as I type this I wrote an offline email, hit send and OL is "Trying to
connect to Microsoft Exchange". This little action seems to overwhelm not
only the MS Office apps, but others as well when it is in fact running. At
this time OL has reached a 'not responding' state and will have to be
restarted... which will most likely entail rebuilding the database.
Any suggestions, recommendations as to what settings might be adjusted will
be appreciated. This is Office Pro 2007 installed on a new machine running 2g
with 2mb, 70 gb free space, under Vista Business without upgrading from older
releases. thanks and have a great day!
