Hi,
Not sure if anyone can answer this question yet, but I'm test driving a
technical preview of Outlook 2010 and would like to know if there is a way to
rearrange folders in the navigation pane without using the Favorites folder
option. I like my navigation pane to display all of my folders in my mailbox
- instead of switching between the mail, calendar, tasks, notes buttons.
I use a lot of folders to keep things organized, and in 2007 have used a
leading character when naming to keep the folders I use more frequently at
the top of the mailbox list. In 2010, all of the "usual" OL folders are at
the top of the list, with all of the folders I've created stuck below them -
even the folders with the leading characters in the name are below the
default OL folders (so, now, my folder list shows Inbox, Drafts, Sent Items,
Deleted items, Calendar, etc. before reaching the folders I've created). This
totally defeats the purpose of why I'm using a leading character to name
folders.
Since there is no Help yet for Office 2010, I'm hoping someone else out
there testing 2010 can give me a suggestion on how I get the folders I want
above all of the default OL folders. I've looked through the OL Options, but
didn't see anything that allows this.
Please don't say that it can no longer be done in 2010 - that MS default
folders are more important than any other folder I create - please tell me
it's just a glitch in the technical preview!! please?
I want to be able to view my calendar AND see if anything new has hit my
mailbox at the same time. (I have access to more than one mailbox, so the
"new mail" icon on the taskbar does not help, since it only shows if new mail
hits my personal mailbox.)
Thanks for any thoughts and suggestions.
