OL 2010 - Is there an option to prompt confirmation before deleting a contact?

I

Ian R

Hi

I'm using OL2010.

When deleting a contact I don't get a prompt "Are you sure?"

Is there an option to turn this on?

I find its all too easy to accidentally delete a contact - particularly for
contacts with similar names or other details.

Thanks for any info.

Using Outlook 2007 here and if a listing is selected, right click and
delete, it can be restored by going to Edit and select Undo Delete.

Hi Don

Thanks for replying.

There isn't an edit menu as such in OL2010 and there is no option to
undelete.

I can recover things provided I haven't emptied the deleted items folder.
But then I have to drag it from there back into contacts. There isn't a neat
"restore to original location" option.

I'd much rather have the prompt before I kill a contact.

When the Contacts list is displayed and the top of the page is posted,

Contacts - Microsoft Outlook

The next line isn't

File Edit View Go Tools Actions Help

?

This is the Edit I was referring to.

Hi Don

Thats correct there is no "File Edit View Go Tools Actions Help"

OL 2010 uses the ribbon with tabs so the menu bar from the previous editions
no longer appears.

I should add that there is an undo button but this will only cover the last
action.

Google "OL2010 ribbon" for images of it.

Ian,

You shook the memory cells in this ol soul; "ribbon" did come out some time
ago and left ol Donald behind. Sorry I couldn't be of help.
