OL Signatures

Follow-up to microsoft.public.outlook
OL 2002 SP3; Win XP SP1

Hi,
I am trying to edit an email template (.oft) that I created, and update the
signature in the template. I have changed the signature under
tools/options/mail format (picking a different default one that I edited).
However, in html this does work but NOT in plain text i.e. the old signature
keep coming back....!
How do I fix this?

I have fixed this problem by finding the proper files with the various
extensions and edited each in turn.
As I understand, there are 3 files created when one creates a signature in
OL; all same name with the following extensions e.g. "signature.html",
"signature.rtf", "signature.txt."
I am not sure why I had to go into each as opposed to editing through OL and
having OL modify the files directly, but perhaps that is normal.
