OL2000 upgrade to OL2007

Hi! I was wondering if there's a FAQ or help section on switching from
Outlook 2000 to Outlook 2007 (on XP). We're finally getting around to
upgrading to Office 2007 Pro and I was wondering if there are tips or things
I should know or potential problems I might encounter.

For a specific question - can I continue to use the OL2000 pst file or will
I have to import the data into the OL2007 pst file?

Sorry for replying to myself but I thought I should clarify that it isn't
technically an upgrade. We've bought the full program and not an upgrade to
OL2000

If you're installing it on the same computer and replacing the original
version, then technically it is an upgrade.
Uninstall Outlook 2000 first or the entire Office 2000 suite if you are no
longer using any of those programs.
If you are using any addins for Outlook, verify that they are Outlook 2007
compatible or uninstall/upgrade hem.
Install Outlook 2007
Recreate your mail profiles as per;
http://www.howto-outlook.com/faq/newprofile.htm
but instead of setting your old pst-file as the default, leave it as a
secondary pst-file to be able to take advantage of the UNICODE formatted
pst-file.
Start Outlook and copy the items from your old pst-file to the new one.

You can continue to use your old PST file. However, there are many
limitations to that old PST file format, so creating a new 2003-type PST
file will give you many advantages. Don't import the old data file, copy
the data within Outlook (use right-click drag-and-drop to select between
Copy and Move).

Thank you Roady and Pat for the responses! I definitely would like to use
the new PST format to take advantage of the improvements...but I was
wondering if I could get clarification on moving data from the old PST to the
new one. Am I able to have both PST files open by Outlook 2007 at the same
time? I'm guessing so if I'm able to drag and drop into the new one but
please let me know if I'm incorrect.
