OL2002 "Server is not available"

I use OL2002 as a client linked to my Hotmail account. It's been working
fine until this morning when it started displaying "the server is not
available" whenever I try to send/receive, I chose to manually control the
send/receive function. The only thing that has changed since yesterday is
that I added the Palm Desktop s/w to the machine but I don't believe there
was any indication of interaction with OL or HM. Any ideas?

It is possible that the Hotmail server is unavailable as the error
indicates.

I found that the mail store appeared to be corrupted. In muddling through a
recovery of the .pst file, I was able to repair the difficulty I was
experiencing.
