OL2003 Duplicate Show Names: Contacts listed twice...

New > To > Show names from the:

Business Contacts

When I attempt to select the first instance of Contacts I see the following
message...

"The address list could not be opened. The Contacts folder associated with
the address list could not be opened; it may have been moved or deleted,
or you do not have permissions."

When I select the 2nd instance of Contacts I see what is expected.
This behavior is annoying and confusing. Any suggestions howI may
resolve this?

Yea thanks Russ -- but -- which is which? %-)
What I now observe would be a little tricky to explain.

Are these address books stored in the .pst file? If so I could
whack one or the other without concern if I could restore either
using the .pst file.

Just pick one. If it's the wrong one, add it back and remove the other. You
won't be touching the actual data source.

Thanks Russ. One down and one to go.When I select Contacts from the
Folder List I get a dialog that states...

"The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook
form instead. The form required to view this message cannot be
displayed. Contact your administrator."

I just discovered that Outlook has a help file ;-) Meanwhile do you
have any idea how to dismiss that dialog and why it is displayed?

I've searched all over Russ but there is no information about the
Outlook Address Book Service for OL2003, no Tools > Services
menu, no mention of such via the Support Center. Nothing. Nada.

Plenty of references via Google but all for previous versions
of Outlook most of which make mention of the Tools > Services
menu which I do not have accessible.

What I do have access to is the Outlook Address Book via
Tools > Email Accounts > View or change existing...

I mean I removed the OutLook address book, exited OutLook and

from the tree displayed in the navigation pane.

Forget about what I said about having to dismiss three times as

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I have no clue why selecting

Yes, I am sure there has never been any custom forms involved
as I indicated this is a new install on a new instance of W2003
that I am setting up. Well, I have added the Business Contact
Manage.

You have a wire crossed as the dialog is the same...

"The custom form could not be opened. Outlook will use an Outlook
form instead. The form required to view this message cannot be
displayed. Contact your administrator."

I have checked Contacts > Properties > General and there is a list
box labeled "When posting to this folder use:" with the list item
'IPM.Contact' selected. The other selection choice is 'Forms...'
but I have not ever selected that choice as I have no idea what
IPM.Contact or Forms even implies.

I have a wire crossed? How so?
I'm saying I've seen no reports of a problem like this since the old problem
Outlook 98 use to have with Exchange forms having been substituted for
Outlook forms
(http://support.microsoft.com/support/kb/articles/q181/0/57.asp) I'm sure
this is a different issue, but not one that's been reported to my knowledge.

Just pick one. If it's the wrong one, add it back
and
remove
the
other.
You
won't be touching the actual data source.

Yea thanks Russ -- but -- which is which? %-)
What I now observe would be a little tricky to
explain.

Are these address books stored in the .pst file?
If
so
I
could
whack one or the other without concern if I could
restore
either
using the .pst file.

When I attempt to select the first
instance
of
Contacts
I
see
the
following
message...

"The address list could not be opened. The
Contacts
folder
associated
with
the address list could not be opened; it may
have
been
moved
or
deleted,
or you do not have permissions."

When I select the 2nd instance of
Contacts
