OL2003 hangs with IMAP account

OL2003 SP2 connecting to Exchange server SP2 (via IMAP account) (actually
housed on same machine). OL loads, then just appears to "hang". EXSysMgr
shows the connection, and "logging enabled" shows traffic, but OL has to be
terminated and refuses to play. Have un/reinstalled OL2003 and still
experience the same symptom.

Using another IMAP client (Thunderbird), using the same logged on account
and credentials, everything works just fine.

Connecting to another (external) IMAP account outside my network, and
everything also works fine.

Connecting from another workstation to the Exchange server using IMAP and
everything works fine.

Can't figure out if it's something to do with my local exchange server or
client issue.

Anyone any suggestions?
