OL2003: mail does not leave outbox

Most does leave, but sometimes, especially repies, do not
want to be sent. I can open them in the outbox and click
send. They still do not leave.

I am set to not send immediatly, but to wait for the next
automatic or manual send/receive. I just changed to Send
Immediatly and the message left. But I would reather have
a few minutes to rework a message after I click Send.

Any idea why they won't be sent?
