I have what appears to be a simple relay prevention issue, but I'm still
confused.
A remote user has been using my Exchange 2003 server as a POP3 client
running Outlook 2000 on Win98 for years. She just got a new XP machine with
OL2003 and I set up the POP3 account identically. OL2003 receives her mail
fine, and will send mails fine provided she is sending to someone on our
email server's domain.
However, when she tries to email to someone outside of our domain, she gets
a message saying the email could not be delivered. The emails DO leave her
Outbox.
Her small office is on a DSL line with DHCP. She has the old and new
machines side by side and only the old machine can send emails to outside
our email domain.
I would be suspicious of port 25 blocking by her ISP (SBC/PacBell), but why
would her old PC continue to send emails without problem? And the other
(older) PC's in her office continue to send emails without issue.
Can anyone shed some light on this situation?
TIA
