OL2007 and corrupted attachments

I am experiencing occasional corruption of file attachments, so far .doc and
..pdf files. The latest instance also demonstrated an inability to view a
picture inserted in the body of the e-mail. On using the web interface to my
service provider the files are all Ok and the picture was viewable. This
behaviour is not consistant as I had an e-mail with two word attachments, one
OK the other unopenable. The pdf error was a file I/O error.

The system is Vista Ultimate with Office Ultimate fully patched. The Virus
checker is McAffee Internet suite.

Any ideas?

mcafee is integrated with outlook? that will often cause problems like this.
You'll need to disable email integration or uninstall mcafee then reinstall
without outlook integration.

I have checked with McAffee and there is no problem with their product when
trying to open an attachment previously found to be corrupt so the problen
lies with the download. I will disable the e-mail scanner for a few days to
see if there is a recurrance.
