OL2007 Beta 2 Bug?

David Kirk

Have I found a bug here? When changing the time of an appointment that
involves multiple people, I no longer seem to have the option to save the
changes but NOT send a notification to the others. Am I missing the option?
Is there a workaround?

I think that's a change in behavior to avoid scenarios where the organizer changes the meeting time and doesn't tell anyone.

If you don't like it, you can provide feedback with the Send a Smile tool from http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=A2E1F4E2-BC0F-4403-B09F-7A677D55F274. This tool will transmit your comments and a screenshot back to Microsoft. For more information, see http://spaces.msn.com/turtleflock-ol2007/blog/cns!C1013F1F9A99E3D8!135.entry

In this case, for example, I changed the time of the appointment because
Outlook 2007 Beta 2 screwed up all my appointment times by one hour and I
didn't want to bother a significant client with my problem by sending him an
email about something that didn't affect him. At other times, I may want to
inform only the secretary, not the CEO. I valued the feature very much in
2003 and hope against hope that it doesn't get lost in 2007!

Is there another way to submit a request about the beta without installing
another piece of potentially buggy software?

Not if you want to reach Microsoft directly and are not a member of the technical beta. Send a Smile is very small and unobtrusive. I've never seen any problems reported with it. All applications should have such an easy-to-use reporting mechanism.
