OL2K error: "Can't copy the items."

When attempting to drag an embedded distribution list
(162kb) from an email into the Contacts folder, in
Outlook 2000 in Windows XP Pro and/or Win 98SE, I receive
the following message:

"Can't copy the items. Out of memory of system resources.
Close some windows or programs and try again."
