I'm working on a PII Win98 machine that works great for a
machine that old, until the user tries to use OL2K. At
that time it hangs completely, with the current fix being
to open a Word doc, which hangs, start a shutdown, which
makes Word flash the "not responding" box - end task -
*boom* there is OL working like a champ. During the hang,
everything on the desktop & taskbar are available, all
programs are available as long as they are not part of
Office. Hmmm. I was thinking that it may be due to not
including MSOffice as part of the startup in msconfig, but
when I do that, the shortcut bar goes into perma-hang. The
only other way I've found to get OL to be a little quicker
is to hang the Word doc first then OL. I've run the repair
tool on the Office disk, installed again overtop of the
existing copy & uninstalled and reinstalled to no avail.
Help me.
