OK, first of all I did FINALLY figure out how to add a shortcut to web pages
that are in my "Favorites" folder (aka Internet Explorer shortcuts to your
favorite web pages).
Open an Explorer window to your "Favoites" folder, then with OL2K3 and the
Explorer window tiled so you can see both, Drag the favorite (IE shortcut to
web page) to the Shortcuts Navigation pane. Viola, the IE shortcuts I use to
have in my Outlook bar.
Here's the problem.
You don't get the Favorite with the web page name e.g. "Google" you get
http://www.google.com
So you then will have to RENAME all the OL2K3 Shortcuts to match what the
say in your Favorites (as when in IE and you click the favorites icon and
the select the friendly name of the web page)
So, not only is there no user friendly way to add the Outlook shortcuts to
web pages you created in previous version, OR add a shortcut to the shortcut
pane from a web page when you type in the URL in the Web toolbar adress line,
OR
a simple way to add the Favorites either to the menu bar (It's not there by
default) or to a Shortcuts pane in the Navigator Pane. Now when you do figure
it out you have to go thru the toil to rename every bloody one you add.
Where's the love for longtime Outlook users?
MS Support and MVP's , am I missing something or is this the new feature
set in OL2K3?
Is there a simple way while in OL2K3 to; add/create the shortcut to a
webpage, AND/THEN add it to the OL2K3 Shortcut pane, AND keep the friendly
name to it?
Thanks
