OLAP and MS Office

Hello experts,

I read that the OLAP cube needs a Microsoft Office 2003 licence installed to
be build.
Where this/these Microsoft Office 2003 licence(s) must be installed:
- on the server which is running SQL Analysis Services?
- on every client desktop running PWA?
- Both?

Thanks for your help,

Hi,
Yes you have heard it right, you will require Office licence
If you are already using office on client machines then you will NOT have to
buy the licence copies again.
If not then each client machine will require it if you want to make use of
OLAP and send to excel features available in PWA.
Same is the case for server.

Thanks and regards

You can build it without the Office license, you just cant use it at the
client without the license.

I should add that any user with a copy of Project 2003 installed can use the
OLAP cube as this qualifies as an Office 2003 application. Of course you
won't be able to use the integration with Excel.
