OLAP Cube and Decison Support Objects

All -

I have added the Decision Support Objects (DSO) onto my Project Server after
everything else has been built and created. I ran the SP3 for analysis
services on the Project Server box to upgrade the DSO to SP3 as well.

I'm still having troubles building the OLAP cube. When I click the Update
now button, the page just refreshes without any indication of what is
happening. The Current Cube status does not change either, so it looks as
if it is quietly failing.

Does anyone know if I need to rerun the PSComplus tool, or have any other
suggestions on how to get the cube to work? Would adding the DSO on at the
end effect it in anyway?

Thanks!!
Eric

Eric-

You have installed correctly, especially if your project
server box is separate from your SQL box due to load
considerations.

Do you have project data in the database from which to
build the cube?

Have you defined custom enterprise codes for project
and/or resources, since the OLAP cube is built from these
and they must have been stored in the Enterprise Global.

Let me know if this helps.

Hi, Darsh

SQL server installation CD. If Autoplay started: SQL Server
Components/Install Analyses Services. Its setup will start. Go to Components
form. Two elements could't be unselected
: Decision Support Objects and Client component. Here are they! (unselect
others if they are 0not necessary)

If you brows SQL Server Setup, find <cd drive>:\msolap\install directory
too!

Thanks for the help.

I finally got the cube to build, but now I am getting the unable to connect
error. Trying to track down the answer to that now....

Eric:

In the installation guide, see the section called "After installing Project
Server" for instructions on adding users to cube roles, and make sure that
you migrate the repository as well.
