OLAP cube and views - Getting information out again - Micorsoft, Help!!

Please Bill, pleeeease! Microsoft don't do this to me.

Having spent two weeks getting my organisation to setup and use MS
Project 2003 I now find I can't get data out of it.

1. I can't get information on the TYPE of work people are doing across
projects as task level enterprise outline codes don't appear in the
OLAP cube (even with the VBA-assignment fix). This MUST be a common
problem. Has anyone founbd a fix?

2. I can't find task level enterprise codes in the SQLServer database,
although they must be there. Does anyone know where they are stored?

3. Although the web access module allows me to create 'Assignment'
views (as opposed to Project Centre views) I can't find how to run the
assignment views anywhere. Does anyone know how to 'run' assignment
views you have created?

Allen:

1) Task level dimensions do not appear in the OLAP cube. There are both
published workarounds, and third-party solutions to this. Using SQL queries
is or a reporting tool is another option.

2) Task level Outline codes are stored in the same place all the other
outline codes are stored. You should look at the help folder in your Project
Server installation directory and study the data dictionaries. Look at
svrdb.htm

3) From the Resource Center > View Resource Assignments

Hi Gary

Thanks for your response.

1. Reporting on task-level information across projects. I've tried the
VBA fix to copy the Outline Code to Assignments, the the OLAP cube
collapses it down into one or two values (one for each level). Can you
point me in any other directions or third party fixes.

2. Thanks for the location of the document on the database structure.

3. I'm being really stupid, but I go to the Resource Centre and I
can't see anywhere on the screen that says View Resource Assignments,
or the name of my custom Assignment view that I've created. Please put
me out of my misery and tell me where to look.
