OLAP cube build fail - Project Server 2003 SP2

Dear All,

I need halp.
My Project server 2003 failed to build OLAP cube.
It said "The cube building process was initiated on ..." for a long time.
In the past it recalculated cube every mid-night. And it took about 1.2
hours each time.

I have tried manual "Update Now". I have tried restart the server during
night time.
But the cube still failed.

Other features still working, the problem is the Resource portfilio analyser
is not updated. I can still add or delete enterprise resources.

Could you please help?

Resolving these issues on 2003 is not too easy.

Make sure that both SQL and AS are both patched at the same level.
Run through the 2003 installation guides to make sure that the correct
permissions are in place for the olap cube (OLAP Admins group etc).

I have admin permission.
As I checked I found my MS Project2003 Pro SP3 but my Project Server 2003 is
SP2.

Do you think this is a problem?
Should I upgrade my Project Server to SP3?
What should I do?

Product version: 8.00.2039(SP4)

MS SQL Server Analysis Services
Version: 8.00.2039

About permission issue, my olap admin account is a member of “OLAP
Administrators Group†on the server.

I reran the PCComplus.exe to Delete all COM+ apps and re-enter all
credentials again ,then click “Create/Update COM+ Apps†but cube still not
work.

My Olap admin and WSS admin account are local users on Project Server. Both
accounts are not disable and no password changed. ( I have tried to log on
the server with these local account and they can access the server)

I have Project Server 2003 SP2a and the cube's always successfully built.But
a week ago, I found that the cube status on "Manage Enterprise Features" menu
always shown "The cube building process was initiated on <DATE> at <TIME>"
everytime I try to manual update the cube from PWA or running on schedule
time.Once the manual update or schedule update is started,there's 7 errors
and 2 warning appear very quick on Application Event Logs as below:

Upgrading to SP3 on the server probably won't fix the problem, but I would
upgrade the server to SP3 so that it matches the client anyway.

I will consider upgrading my Project Server to SP3 later.
But now I would like to have my OLAP cube updated first.
My users are complaining about the data mismatch.
(Today is 16th April, but the cube data was 8th April.)

Have you got the detail information I post in my previous post?
Do you have any suggestions?

Yes, I checked that my SQL and Analysis Service.
MS SQL 2000 Server
Product version: 8.00.2039(SP4)

MS SQL Server Analysis Services
Version: 8.00.2039

Both are the same.

I will run through the OLAP cube permission again.
(In the past it has no problem.)

Let's see if I can find any causes.

Hi Ben,

I'm Administrators who works with Weerayuth. I would like to explain more
details about the version of SQL server and Analysis Services. You will see
that both SQL and Analysis Services have the same version number,8.00.2039.It
means that both SQL and Analysis use the same Service Pack applied. And the
version for Service Pack 4 is 8.00.2039.

The most common reason for this error is that something happened to the
identity running the COM+ object for the OLAP build. Check to see if the
password expired or the account expired or is otherwise disabled. You might
also try running PSCOM+ to re-establish the identity.
