OLAP Cube Build - Filter Projects by Name

I am looking for info/resource to help me understand the Cube Build process.
I need to filter out certain projects out of the cube based on name (e.g.
include project names starting with the word Design). Appreciate any help.

If this is for reporting which is normally the case you can do this in Data
Analysis or SSRS reports that get created.
Simple filtering will help you with the projects you want to see.

Thanks Robert.

Yes, thisis for reporting and access thru Data Analysis. How does one get to
Analysis Services? Via SQL Mgmt Studio?

Well yes you can connect through tools like Visual Studio and Studio Manager,
but the task of filtering can be done at the report level.
Have you built the cube yet or more importantly have you setup AS and PWA to
talk to one another?

If so then when you greate the DA reports the Project Name field as an
example can be used as a filtering tool to only get the projects you want to
see.

You don't accomplish this exclusion of projects during the Cube building
process. Instead, you can filter on project names when you create a Data
Analysis view. Hope this helps.

MSPLearner,

even more you can keep users from changing your filter by deselecting
"Filter" in tab "Protection" in Commands and Options. But be careful: these
setting are also valid in "Edit View". If you deselect "View Commands and
Options dialog ..." too early you need to re-create yor view.
