OLAP Cube Building

Daniel Pruett

I hope that someone can help; I have tried to build the Cube but it keeps coming back with the error

Failed to build the OLAP cubes. Error: Analysis Services session failed with the following error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server PROJECT\OFFICESERVERS. Error: The connection string to repository needs to be specified in the 9.0 server properties (see <DSO>...</DSO> section in msmdsrv.ini file from Analysis Services 9.0).

I have read up on fixing this and set it up, but I get to the point of adding the SSP Service account(NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE) to the OLAP user group-and the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE account cannot be found by lusrmgr.msc

I might add that I have not been granted high level domain credentials (the customer's I.T. Admin is a paranoid control freak with little formal training). Every other aspect of the EPM Solution works great-I am just stuck here. Can anyone please help?

Daniel:

You should be using a real live domain account for your service account for
the SSP. I think things will work if you do.

Will I be able to do that without causing any big mishaps...(can I just change the ssp account info and just apply)?

Thanks again - Daniel
