OLAP Cube Error

Hello Everyone,

I built up a new project server but am having a problem getting the OLAP cube
to build..

[12/14/2006 11:14 AM] Analysis Services session failed with the following
error: Failed to connect to the Analysis Services server Bobs2007ps. Error: The
connection string to repository needs to be specified in the 9.0 server
properties (see <DSO>...</DSO> section in msmdsrv.ini file from Analysis
Services 9.0).

It would appear that I missed something in the configuration process.

Can someone point me to where this issue is addressed in the documentation?

Hi Marc,

I neglected to mention that the server in question is Project Server 2007.

The KB article you referenced only addresses Project Server 2003. Were
you using Project Server 2007 when you saw this problem?

Bob,

You're right, the KB article is about PS2003 only - but I had the exact same
problem you encounter in my PS2007 environment. After following the steps
described I was able to build the OLAP cube successfully.
