OLAP Cube update does nothing

Hi,
I have setup where my Project Server 2003 server sits in a different domain
to the SQL/Analisys Services machine.

The server project server has been moved to a new location on he LAN. Ever
since the OLAP cube updates appear to do nothing. When I click Update Now I
can see the message stating when the last update was initiated. Nothing else
happens. No activity on the database, no updates to he last generated time on
the cube itself, no errors in events logs on Project Server or SQL server.

I have created a UDL on the Project Server to test that connectivity to the
SQL database is still OK using the account used to run Project Server
Services and it all looks OK.

Where else within project server or analisys might I look for any errors
which will give me some more clues as to what the problems might be?

Hi Ian,

For our 2003 setup both the project and DB servers are in a domain separate
from the user clients. We have to use a citrix tunnel from client to an app
server running IE and Project Pro for full access to the OLAP cube.

You may be having a similar issue with your OLAP user going across domains
from your project server to your DB. Even though you've confirmed
connectivity via UDL I'd check the permissions of the OLAP user on the
analysis (DB) server and also the trust relationship, as the old domain
should "trust" the new one. (You'll probably want to check with your network
engineer on that, I know I do)
