OLAP queue job error: 'Your queue job CBSRequest failed'

J

Jonathan

Our OLAP setup with Analysis Services was running kinda fine (no errors)
until we re-imaged our Project Server with SQL - for an entirely unrelated
reason.

I now get this error and need a '101' explanation how to resolve, please!

Thanks
Jonatha

Unfortunately, the errors are very general and are not enought to lead
anyone to a specific problem, let alone a solution. You say that you
"reimaged" your Project Server, but you don't provide any additonal
information on your setup. An action such as this could have caused any of
dozens of possible problems if the new image didn't contain all the correct
components required. Unless you are very well versed with the technology and
a very good troubleshooter and reporter, this may not be an effiecient
troubleshooting forum, so you might consider a support call with Microsoft
or a Project partner.

When you reimaged Project Server, did you by any chance change the
names of the databases or Analysis Services datastore? Are you using
the same SQL Server? I just helped a client troubleshoot this issue.
They installed a training instance of Project Server to the same SSP
as the Test instance. They pointed the training instance to the test
intance's AS database. Once we discovered that, they created a new AS
db for the training instance and all worked well. Except that now the
Test instance wouldn't work because it contained data from the
training instance.

So i think this is related, but i also think that the restored
version's settings are different from the previous versions' - that's
where the My Timesheet part of the error message comes in. Have you
verified all the settings?

Hope this helps,
