Hi

What is the role of OLAP? Is it necessary to install OLAP during
installtion of Project server 2003 ?? Can anyone explain me what is all this
process ? Is Potrfolio analyzer and OLAP one & same thing?? Thanks

Hello,

Microsoft Analysis Services is delivered with and licensed as part of your
Microsoft SQL Server
2000 kit. It must be installed separately after you install SQL server.
Analysis Services delivers
an On Line Analysis Services (OLAP) capability and support for data mining.

Project Server 2003 uses Analysis Services to implement the Portfolio Analyzer.
If you never use
the Portfolio Analyzer, you can ignore Analysis Services and OLAP.

However, I believe the Portfolio Analyzer is one of Project Server's greatest
strengths and
strongly encourage you to install and use it. We are here to help...
