Old deleted contacts sync to ipod

I just bought an ipod classic and downloaded my contacts. It is coming up
with some contacts I deleted over a year ago.
I only have one contact list and am syncing my ipod to only computer. I sync
it in the same manner as my PDA. My PDA shows all the ones it should.
I exported my contact list to a .csv file and the contacts coming up in my
ipod aren't on that .csv list. Any suggestions how this might come up??

Incorrect sync settings. Not an Outlook issue.
