old event in calander

We are getting a notice of an overdue appointment. The message states "
21238 Weeks overdue". The start date is Monday January 01, 1601 12:00:01.

We did not enter this and when we use the go to function for the date it and
type in Monday January 01, 1601 it takes us to the year 3501.

The machine is running office 2007 on XP pro which is completely patched and
running Symantec enterprise for the antivirus (scanned and up to date). This
problem started when the machine was running office 2003 and we tried the
update to fix it after everything else failed.

There are no records for this event anywhere else.
