Old Junk not deleting after specified retention

I set my iMac Entourage Junk E-mail Protection "delete older than x days" to
4, but it appears that Entourage 2008 doesn't delete except when I exit
Entourage. There are currently 6 days of junk in the Junk E-mail folder. Am
I missing something? I usually don't logout or exit Entourage unless there
is some reason to do so, like installing a software update.

Open your schedule. The top part "when"....what is it's' setting?

In Schedule, there is no item for deleting Junk E-mail. I assume that the
Junk E-mail Protection "delete older than x days" runs outside of Schedule.
I disable the checkbox in Junk E-mail Protection for "delete older than x
days", OK, and re-enable, OK, and it doesn't create anything in Tools / Run
Schedule / Edit Schedules. I know I can manually create a Schedule item for
deleting from the Junk E-mail folder, but I thought that the option in Junk
E-mail Protection did that automatically.

That could be a bug. I would just set a schedule to delete. Personally, I
check every day so I won't have so many to check for good messages that get
caught then I nuke them.

One feature in Gmail accounts is it does not download junk to your computer.
You can set it to delete after xx days.
