Old mac word files

I crossed over with my desktop publishing business this
year from Mac to Windows and would like to access an old
Mac disc on my new system. Is there a way to read the
mac disc using Windows XP Home Edition? Is there a way
to see the contents of the mac displayed even if I can't
access the files? I think I created the files on the
disc using Microsoft Word for Mac but I don't remember
what version it was. Any hope? Thanks for your valuable
time and input.
