Old OST file restore with a new mail box

Due to a problem with our Exchange server, all users' mail boxes have
been deleted and new mail boxes have been created.
Some users have backups of old Outlook.ost files, but they can't
restore them just because these files refer to their old boxes.

Is it possible to bypass the lock and to restore old data?
