Old Read Receipt

Hello. I searched through the threads here but I can’t find a solution that
would fix my issue.
We use Exchange 2003 and Outlook 2000 and 2003.
Sender sent an email back in 10/31/2007 via Outlook 2003.
Recipient read that email in 6/26/2008 on Outlook 2000.

I was told about 6 months ago that the Sender is still getting read receipts
for this message. Whenever the recipient logs on everyday the sender get that
read receipt.

I reinstalled Office on the recipient’s machine and that made the problem go
away for few weeks but it came back.
I reformatted her computer too due to other issues and that also made the
problem go away but now its back again.

I also tried the two utilities suggested here, OutSpyInstall and
MDBVU32.exe. In both utilities, the part where the instructions say the stuck
read receipt should be, I don’t see anything – so I don’t have anything to
delete.

Not sure what else to try. Please help. Thanks.

Cached exchange mode is selected for the sender(Outlook 2003).
What do you mean what does the message tracking show from the recipient? You
mean the settings on the recipient machine?

Any ideas???
Today I found out that there is another user who has been getting a read
receipt from the same user over and over. Seems like the recipient's mailbox
might be having issues...
