Old reminders pop up every Monday

We have a problem here where every Monday morning when
starting Outlook we get a reminder popuping which has
dozens of old appointments in it. We select "Dismiss
All" and then we are OK for another week. But it then
happens again the following Monday.

We are using Outlook 2003 and exchange 2000.

Any advice would be appreciated.
