'Old' tasks conflicting after Master & subord. projects moved

I have built several individual project files and then a Master Project with
a shared resource pool. Everything seems to be OK. Then I moved these files
into a subdirectory from where they used to be. Now, when I level, I'm
seeing tasks on Resource Usage view that are duplicates of the 'real ones'.
I added a column to the view of 'Project' to see what project they're from
and these dups are pointing to the same, respective project, but in the
parent directory. What did I do wrong and how can I clean these up? I can't
delete them (greyed-out).

Hi KK,

From your description it sounds as though the Resource Pool file still has
links to both copies of the sharer files.
Open the Resource Pool file with the option to open with read/write access.
Choose Tools > Resource Sharing > Share Resources. You should see a dialog
box showing all files the Resource Pool file is linked to. Select the
duplicates and choose the Break Link button to break the link. Save the
Resource Pool file.

From a post by fellow MVP Rod Gill some time ago:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
DDE is used to connect projects to the pool and DDE is a fragile technology.
Corruptions are typically caused by
renaming a file
moving a file
over-writing a file
Deleting a file

without first disconnecting from the pool. You can get away with it for a
while but it is almost guaranteed that the pool will corrupt sooner rather
than later if any of the above actions is done.

Julie,

Thanks. I did not recall this option existed. I have since done this.

Thanks!

KK.
