Old tasks still showing up on My Tasks list

Robert

Hello,

This has to do with Project Server 2007. We are seeing tasks in the
my tasks list that are older tasks, are 100% complete and have been
approved by the project manager. If what they are telling me is
correct, what else could cause this? My understanding is that they
would make the task either 100% complete, or 8 hours reported on a 8
hour task, submitted for approval, project manager approves and
project is republished. At this point those completed tasks should
disappear from the My Tasks area right? Anything that could cause
them to stick around? Anything I am forgetting in the process?
Thanks for your time.

Robert: You can publish exactly that task you want to show up on the users
My Tasks. Read the article link below.
http://blogs.msdn.com/project/archive/2007/01/06/publishing-made-simple.aspx

But this now put the project manager in full control, but at the same time
it's more work for him. In Project Server 2003 it published large list of
tasks in the future and once a task was publish it was hard to remove. As the
article suggest you should now release task by phase, and remove them when
they are complete.

Hope this helps

Robert --

My understanding from Microsoft is that a "current task" in the My Tasks
page now includes the following:

1. Any task that should have started in the past, but has not yet started
2. Any task that is in-progress but not yet completed
3. Any task that is scheduled to begin in the next 10 business days
4. Any task that FINISHED in the last 10 days

With this new definition, completed tasks will fall off the My Tasks page in
the next two weeks. Let us know if this confirms the behavior you see.
