old version of visio

I have an old version of visio - Visio Home 3.0. Can anyone tell me if the
templetes and stencils from a previous version be used in and saved to Visio
2003?

You can use any stencil from a previous version as long as it does not use
an add-on program. The shapes will work, but you will lose the extra
intelligence the add-on provided.

When you open a stencil from a previous version of Visio that used a
different file format, you will be asked to update your format. You may want
to do this on copy of the original stencils.
