Old Visio Patch Files

I am unable to locate the patch file to update Visio Technical 5 to 5c
on Microsoft's website. Are the public files for Visio older than the
2000 version still available on Microsoft's website? Could someone
supply me this patch file, if this file is no longer available for
download?

Sorry Paul,

At this point Microsoft only supports the versions of Visio that have been
released under the Microsoft brand. That starts with Visio 2000 SP1.
Perhaps someone else still has the patch files.

Thanks for responding to my post.

Actually, the patch is still available on the Microsoft web site,
although I could not locate it by doing a search of the website.

I think it is unfortunate that Microsoft has terminated any kind of
support for versions of Visio prior to Microsoft's acquisition of the
Visio company. Why not leave the patches and other utilities
available for download with a stipulation that the downloads are
provided without any support?

Some people may not have the money or do not use the product
frequently enought to purchase an upgrade.

Anyways, the patch did not solve the error that I am getting when
attempting to install Visio 5.0 Technical on Windows XP. The
installation routine encounters an error that terminates the
installation at an incomplete state so that Visio is not executable.
If anyone has a solution to this problem, I would appreciate knowing
what the solution is.
