Since upgrading to Office 2007 I have a problem with some old docucments that
have images in them; the images show and print as a black box.

Does anybody have any ideas as to what the problem is?

Hi, my printer driver is up to date, but I've reinstalled it just in case. I
also, get the same problem usinf the driver for the document image writer.
The problem appears when viewing the document for edit, in print preview and
on the printer.

Can you suggest anything further.

I've also tried loading the file on my works laptop which has completley
different drivers and have the same results. I quite convinced that Word
2007 is not reading the file properly.

Interestingly, Word Viewer 11.8169.8172 SP3 opens the files correctly.

I have found that using a PS driver will result in the black box.
However, if you use a laserjet series II or any PCL driver, it tends
to work 99% of the time. Hopefully SP1 for MSoffice 07 will fix this.

I too have a client with the same problem. They have thousands of docs, each
with lots of pics. This is preventing them purchasing Word 2007.

The problem lies with Word. Even converting an old (Word2003) file to rtf
with 2003 gives the same results. Wordpad, word2003 & wordviewer are all fine
but Word2007 shows black boxes in place.

If there's any work around possible, please let me know, I'd apreciate it.

Thanks

Wayne
