Older Outlook E-Mail is Plain Text

It appears that all my older e-mail messages, dated 1/9/2007 and older have
been converted to plain text by Outlook 2007. Any idea what causes this or
how I might be able to restore the messages to HTML format?

All newer e-mail, basically 2007+ is fine and 2006/Older is now plain text.

I have an update. I looked at all my old PST files and it seems even in my
oldest files, Outlook converted a chunk of messages from HTML to plain text.
It seems to be anything a little older than 1.5 years.

Can anybody confirm what causes this?
