I am running Access 97 in Windows XP pro with a database of about 2000
photos. I attempted to establish a bounded object on a form with the
control source an OLE field as a linked object. It works fine with JPEGs
and .bmp created in MS Paint but will only show an Photoshop icon for
any files (which is almost all of my files) done in Photoshop 7.0.
(That is, take a Photoshop created .jpg, load into Paint, save as a
..jpg, the original is an icon in the bound object window whereas the
paint version is the picture)
Further, the entry in the OLE field for the Photoshop image is Package,
whereas the Paint shows up as Bitmap Image.
Link is checked, Display as Icon is not.
All of the above is true with .jpg, .gif & .tif.
Why with Photoshop, OLE server version 2.0?
