OLE control error

Hi-

I posted this last week on another microsoft.public.access board and didn't
get any replies. I'm hoping maybe someone on this forms board can help me
out....

Thanks so much if you can, Betsy

Hi everyone-

I have a friend who is trying to insert a bmp image into an OLE field. She
tries to insert an image by right-clicking the ole control in her table's
form view and selecting "Insert Object". She then browses the "Create from
File" option to locate a bmp file. After locating the file, she clicks "OK"
to insert the image and gets the following error message:

"The OLE object isn't registered.
The object may be calling an application that isn't installed.
To register the application, reinstall it."

I tried to help her and went to My Computer, using the OPEN WITH option to
assign different applications as the default viewers. I tried Paint,
LViewPro and the Windows Image and Fax viewer. Not sure if she's a
registered user of LViewPro or not, so I thought that might be the culprit,
but even Paint produced this error when I tried it.

She has done this with great success in the past. Three things have changed
since then, however. She has upgraded to Windows XP, she has upgaded to
Access 2002 and she has started using a server, so her data is not stored on
her "C" drive.

What can I tell her to fix this? TIA for all help and advice-

Betsy
