OLE Field Problem

I have a table that contains an OLE object field. I have been successfully
inserting .bmp objects into the field until today. When I try to insert the
new object, I get this error

"The connection with the OLE server was lost. or the OLE server encountered
an error while you were using it
Restart the OLE server and try the operation again"

I get the same error on any database with an OLE Object field, even a new
one. Anyone familiar with this one?
