OLE Server Communication

When I try to insert a Word document into an Access table as an embedded OLE
object, Access won't let me do it. I get an error message to the effect that
Access had problems communicating with the OLE server. Both Word and Access
are on my computer and it is not networked with any other computers.
Rebooting does not help. Any ideas on how to fix this would be appreciated.
