OLEAUT32.DLL problem

I am experiencing frequent crashes of Internet Explorer. The error messages
say that IE has encountered a problem with OLEAUT32.DLL, and must close. I
can find this .DLL file in Windows/System, but I can't, for the life of me,
figure out what's wrong with it. I don't even know what it is. Does someone
know of a fix for this?

You will probably have more luck if you post in a news group that supports
your version of Windows. This is an Office group and, while someone may
know the answer, you will probably have to wait a long time for them to come
along to answer you. Post in a Windows group where the Windows experts hang
out.

the (insert latest virus name here) virus, all mail sent to my personal
account will be deleted without reading.
