OLEDB link with Access DB disappears whenever I reopen Word Document.

Hi all,

I have a mail merge document linked to a Access .mdb through OLEDB. I save
the doc, and afterwards when i reopen the file, Word asks me to relocate the
database, or just remove all merge info as if my db is missing or moved, but
in fact it isn't.

If I link by means of a DDE connection, the problem doesn't occur, however
this invokes launching access and loading all record, which takes a huge
ammount of time with large databases and therefore i want to avoid that
method.

Did anyone experienced the same problem ? And so, did anyone found the
solution.?

Is this Word 2002? Or is it Word 2003?

Does your data source have column names with spaces in them? Have you
applied any sorts or filters in Word's Edit recipients?

There is an error in Word 2002 that can cause problems in the above
circumstances. If that is the problem, I'm not sure what you can do about it
except maybe create an Access query that gives the columns alias names that
do not contain spaces.
