ON 2007: Emailing

auto-When emailing a note (that's sent to Outlook):

[1] Is there any way that I can eliminate the auto-incluison of the <.one>
version of the attachment that's placed by default in the attachment list
together w/ th <.mht> version? (I always remove it manually as most folk I
know don't use One Note--obviously because they have yet to be enlightened to
its magic. But we'll give them time to become converts, eh?)

[2] Is there any way that I can eliminate the auto-incluison the automatic
inclusion of the message:

If you don't have OneNote 2007, you can click the second attachment to view
the notes as a Web page.
You can download a free OneNote trial version from:
http://r.office.microsoft.com/r/rlidOneNoteTrial?clid=1033&ver=12&app=onenote.exe&p1=12

Sure...I would love EVERYONE to be enlightened re: ON's magic...but I don't
like sending the equivalence of promotional links and messages in the emails
I send to everyone...and especially in business emails--which I don't believe
are the venues for auto inclusion of any promo material). Especially when
such message is much longer than the few-word email message I would write
when sending an mht file such as 'See my email attached in mht"(Of course, I
always manually delete this message, but it would be better to have choice of
option to not have such message appear by default. ).

[3] Is there anyway to auto-embed the ON note into the BODY of the email
(other than via cut and paste) vs. sending the mht version...i.e., to have
the email of the note be auto-generated in what had been ON 2003 style?

Thanks!

Thanks for the reply John.

Had failed to mention that I indeed HAD checked this option long ago (and
just checked again)...and, indeed, the option 'Attach a copy as a OneNote
file' IS and remains unchecked. Curiously enough, when in that option screen,
had decided to add an email signature...and though I indeed DID check latter
(and di put in signature info below), when I closed the option screen and
tried to generate an email, the signature was NOT appearing. (which makes me
believe that somehow that particular 'option screen' may not be functioning
at all????)

Cont'd thanks for your aid...

You can turn off attachments here and remove (or replace) the text when
sending email with OneNote.

Hope this helps,

How are you opening email from OneNote? With CTRL+SHIFT+E, or via the file
command?

Or some other method?

Thank you again for your reply John.

[1] First, let me just correct an inacuracy in my previous post re: a
mention that the 'missing signature' issue was mistaken by me. The signature
IS being inserted (but at the bottom of the MHT attachment, vs. at the bottom
of the 'cover' eamail page which contains that 'promo' message.') I just
noticed this late late night, and hadn't before--because indeed I had been
looking for the signature on such 'cover note' inasmuch as my default email
send setup does provide for such insertion of signature on the new message
page that instantly pops up when clicking 'New Message.' Sorry for the
mis-report re: this. (Of course, I would much prefer, if excluisively
relegatedn to an mht attachment vs an imbeedded ON 2003 style email body) to
have the signature on the primary email message vs on the MHT attachment,
inasmuch as former is indeed the locale on which such signature normally
appears when sending any non-ON 'email w/ attachment.' I believe you know
what I mean. That is, if embedding is NOT an option, would like to at least
have a default where the 'New OL Message-Page' (free of promo info) appears
by default WITH my signature in place (like on all other emails I
send)....and above which I could then include a simple line like: "See
attached mht file via your browser for the content of this email" (which in
turn I would perhaps consider incuding as a PERMANENT component of my
'signature' as well re: all ON generated emails).

[2] In reply to your specific question, normally I use the Toolbar email
icon. But, upon seeing your reply, have just tried generating a ON email via
both Ctrl+Shift+ E and via the FILE menu--just to see if there is a
difference. No difference though. The <.one> version of the file is still
included in the attachment (along w/ the mht version) even though such option
remains unchecked in Tools/Options/Email....and, of course, the promo message
is still there as well.

My cont'd gratitude for your consideration of this....

Handy

For what it is worth... I'm in the forums today for the same issue.

I've checked the Email options, unchecked the boxes; but my emails from
OneNote are always the two attachments and the "ad" text.

It would be easier to answer the question if the question was more than
"I'm having the same problem". What, exactly, is the "same problem"? I
gather it has something to do with e-mailing but...

The message you're quoting is a little more explicit but not very. What
are "the two attachments" and the "ad" text?
