ON 2007 on Vista HP, sync with WM5 pda device-multiple copies of n

Hi

I see a lot of people have trouble syncing in the first place - that's not
my issue. The sync works - both backwards and forwards i.e if I make a
change on the PC's note (in the OneNote Mobile notebook, of course) the
change occurs in the PDA copy; and vice versa.

However, every time I plug in my pda to sync I get multiple new versions of
the PDA note with ever longer names. I have uninstalled, rebooted (both pc
and pda), reinstalled several times but this still keeps happening. Tearing
out of hair time!!

Any thoughts? As mentioned in the subject like, OneNote 2007 (not trial),
Windows Vista Home Premium, Windows Mobile 5 on an HP Ipaq re6828, OneNote
Mobile loaded using default settings. Windows Device Centre (which I
HATE!!!) 6.1.

On my new machine under Vista, everything seems to be OK so far with
synching.

I had similar problems on my old machines running under XP and
ActiveSync.
It seems that this mostly was a result of having synched with a second
computer.

My recipe to cure the problems:
- On the PC create a new section in a "normal notebook";
- move the notes form the "Mobile" notebook there;
- Sync again;
- in case synching does not remove the notes from the iPAQ, delete them
manually there.
- delete the old "mobile" notebook on the PC;
- create a new one, move the saved note to there;
- sync again.

Thanks, Rainald. I will certainly try what you have said, but it isn't the
pda device that has multiple copies of the pda onenote page, it's the Desktop
version. It's almost like the desktop version doesn't recognise there is
already a copy there and just puts another and another and another in the
OneNote Mobile folder.

Yes, this was the situation on my side too.
