on exit minimize to system tray

I think, just like with MSN Messenger and other Messenger services, when you
hit the red X on the top right of the screen to close windows Outlook, it
should have the option instead of closing to minimize it to the system tray
instead.

I have Outlook 2003 and would like it to minimize to the tray when I close
the program (click the "X"). How do I do this?

You can't minimize to the system tray by clicking the Close button (the X).
Instead, right-click the Outlook icon in the system tray and choose "Hide
When Minimized". Then minimize it to the system tray by clicking the
Minimize button (the line).

There used to be a registry hack that would allow older versions of outlook
to do just what Will is asking for. I am in here looking to resolve the same
problem. I used to use a little program called outlock with Outlook 2000. I
remember seeing posts a while back about a registry hack that would keep
Outlook minimized even if you tried to close it. I got real used to this
feature and really like to have it that way with Outlook 2003. If anyone out
there can remember the registry change, it would be greatly appreciated.

There is no such registry hack but there are 3rd party applications that can
"catch" this.
