On Got Focus Error

I am trying to create a new query using the Simple Query wizard. When I
attempt to select a table, I get an error message that the On Got Focus
expression produced the following error: The text you entered is not an item
in the list.

Since this is a new query, I do not have any event procedures. I have
created other queries with no problems and those do not have any event
procedures. I have tried closing Access and even rebooted and I still get
the error.

Can someone tell me what the cause of this message is?

Thanks.

Probably corruption. Try to repair and compact. Since it's in the Wizard
itself, at worst an uninstall/reinstall of Access might be required.

In reality, you'll only use that wizard about 5 times before you discover
it's limited abilities.

Thanks for the reply.

I compact the database on close. Access was installed only a week ago
(literally) and this is about only the 6th time I have run the software since.

I did notice that if I hit Escape enough (6 or 8 times), it would simply
leave me at the list of tables/queries to base my new query on and let me
continue.

Strange. Thanks again.
